Why does my telly have a mind of its own re chromecasting/screen mirroring.
The other week the wifes phone connected straight up.
This week, I've just spent an hour trying to get the fucking thing to work. No joy!
Unplugged everything for several minutes, restarted.everything several times.
Tv says it is connected but phone fails to connect to miracast.
Same thing used to happen wih the chromecast on my phone. It would sometimes work, then freeze or lose connection half way through a film. Really not likely to buy another sony tv after all this shit.
Any advice please (apart from the obvious insurance claim)

    My Sony works great.

I've a Toshiba TV at work that just wouldn't Miracast from some devices... a firmware update on the telly fixed it.

My Sony is a bit shite also. Even with cables, sometimes it likes my Windows laptop, sometimes not, sometimes it likes wifeys Macbook, sometimes not.

My sony is shite. The slowest reaction to button presses I've ever encountered, and then when the menu finally does deign to grace me with it's presence it goes away again as soon as I try to scroll down and I have to start all over again.

It's latest wheeze is to put up a message over the live TV saying it is unable to show live TV which I have to cancel so I can watch the live TV.

Casting seems to be slightly problematic. I got Chromecast to work eventually, but I had to separate the 2 bands of my wifi, so I now have 2 separate wifi networks, both of which seem to work OK. It was a PITA to achieve (and I have no idea of how I did it, a bloke from Google in the US of A talked me through a fairly complex process)
