Went to spectate at the classics at Mallory today. Thinking of sorting out the Norton and doing some parades next year. Lead us not into further temptation.

Here is one of the local lads this weekend at Snetterton who decided Rookie 600 would be a good idea this year after going very quick on trackdays and was running in the top 5-6 when things went a little wrong

Now thats not the best line through Corams IMHO

Treads holding out well on my tyres though

Now where is that T cut and gaffa tape

He's ok but a following rider took to the grass and went down at 120 resulting in knocked out and an airlift to hospital

Excellent. I've still got the same bikes, #49, but different van- big white and rust Merc 609. And I was too slow to get a garage booked so I'll be somewhere in the teeming humanity. With a kettle tho.....

No different to his last retirement. His just working through the boredon phase of it then he'll return to his normal position of at the back of the grid.

Nah, I spent too much time at the front of the grid to be happy doing that again. This time I'm retired, though I may parade. Hey, I can go out on an expensive highly polished bike with all the top racing gear and a lap timer and spin grand tales of passing people on slower bikes. It'll be just like a proper trackday

Dont forget to book into the Novice group as well as that adds so much more to the fun if you want to be a real track day hero!

Well that was a fun weekend in the (surprisingly) excellent weather at Croft. Ta to Olly for coming along & doing tyre warmers and moral support- didn't quite reach his target of a 1'29 lap on a steelie but did get down to a reasonable 1'36 by the last race on Sunday.
    Full report to follow
    Synopsis;
SATURDAY- blue skies, mild breeze. V slow in practice & qually, decided Old Faithful was to be the steed (New Pet felt a bit skittish).
Race 3 (PI600) Crap start, chasing others, midpack finish
Race 5 (PI1200) Crap start, watching others disappear
Race 10 (PI600) Better start, gently worked my way down the field
Race 12 (PI1200) Better start, bit lonely but good practice
SUNDAY- more blue skies and mild breeze
Race 3 (PI6)- worlds most appalling start, had some fun nipping past those I should have been leading, lost sight of those I should have been chasing
Race 5 (PI12)- See above plus rolling stoppie into Tower = buttocks clenched, soz to marshals for scaring them
Race 11 (PI6)- Better start, still not brilliant finish but good fun battle with Rich, Patrick and a few others
Race 13 (PI12)- Average start, got done on the back straight, returned the favours into Complex, would have had the next bloke up the road if I'd had a couple more laps, best lap time of the weekend for me
Excellent weekend all told. Now, Cadwell with Derby Phoenix on Bank Holiday weekend- hmmmmmm

Funny how some of these threads just die!

Racing at Thruxton this weekend with KungFooBob in our last race of the 2016 DesmoDue series - should be fun trying to work out which way everything runs with just a 10 min warm up!
