Me, Mrs. G., Gremlinette, her friend plus a few of our friends and respective kids dressed up as Santa and joined a few hundred other people for Santa run around my way. Much fun was had, in a red-suited, beardy, muddy, running kind of way.

Had a visit from my wifes oldest friend. She lives in Devon but was up for the weekend and the wife was so pleased to see her. Note to self; take Wife to Devon at least once a year. Now sitting donw with a bottle of wine each watching Gold Digger.

BTW, your posts are causing me pain. It hurts to laugh at times.

My choices were Sennakot, prune juice or actual prunes. Of the three, I decided that actual prunes would give me the desired level of control to enable safe & undramatic transit to the cludge without the risk that could entail paying to have carpets cleaned etc. From previous experience I can wholeheartedly recommend Sennakot if you like nasty surprises. You take two of them, nothing happens for the first six hours. Then, at any moment during the next six hours, you will have a 0.02 second warning that you are about to shit everything you've eaten during the past year with the ferocity of a fire hose between two heartbeats.

Sounds cathartic! I use DSS capsules. No problems with rectal missile launches.

I took our special guests on a north island tour. They loved it. These few pics don't do it justice, but the smiles on the faces make it all worthwhile

I took them on the northern off road circuit, but it was quite muddy after a few storms this week and lots of puddles. Brendan said his son, Roman, would clean the car, so suddenly puddles were funny

Tough if you don't like it.

Anybody seen the yoghurt pot I was keeping my seamen sample in? It was in the fridge last time I looked.

Good on you Yorick. So good to see practical help taking place and with real generosity. It will give them a massive boost and a "do you remember when we did this" moments for the darker time of grief ahead.

I rode to work early so that I could get on with some extra work in the office. Also managed to check my sermon for Christmas Eve. It is taking shape, but is only in the opening stanza's at the moment. The full salvo is being worked on...

Eaten a bacon and sausage butty... with tommy sauce on it.

I've never had tommy sauce on a sandwich before. It was purely by accident and I ate it regardless, but I won't be doing it again.

Yesterday we went to the Seal Sanctuary at Donna Nook on the est coast. It is theend of the puppig-season so thre were lods of people oohing and aahing at the furrluffy little cubs. In fact there were so many visitors I thogh ght we should form a club. But people did ot seem amused when I suggested this by saying we could then invite others to come and go seal-clubbing with us at weekends No-one took up the suggestion.

despite that it was quite a nice afternoon, if you don't mind frostbite from the east wind coming in from the sea! They charge a few quid to park thre but it is on private land so fair enough and the money goes to the Wildlife trust.

Last time I went there was about 12 years ago so I didn't recognise the seals!
