Its a long long story involving many scouring pads and hand injuries but it's a film that had to be cleaned....made!

    The Guilty.
Tense minimal Danish cop drama. All talk but lots left unsaid. Great stuff.

The Suspect 1944 Film Noir ahead of its time. 4/5 but only if you like old B&Ws.

    1917

Sam Mendez directed story of 2 young soldiers sent to deliver a message on a different part of the front.

Brilliantly done, emotionally exhausting. Worth watching at the movies.

As much as Private Ryan was a great movie, I found 1917 to be more immersive. Possibly the best war movie I've seen.

The Straight Story - David Lynch

”A lyrical portrait of one man's real journey across America's Heartland. Filmed along the 260-mile route that the actual Alvin Straight traversed in 1994 from Laurens, Iowa to Mt. Zion, Wisconsin, "the Straight story" chronicles Alvin's patient odyssey and those he meets along the way. When not rolling along at five miles an hour aboard his '66 John Deere, Alvin encounters a number of strangers, from a teenage runaway to a fellow World War II veteran. By sharing his life's earned wisdom with simple stories, Alvin has a profound impact on these characters that colour his pilgrimage.”

A brilliant film with outstanding characters. I’m not surprised it garnered so much praise on Rotten Tomatoes. A terrific soundtrack.

    5/5

Watched it at the cinema when it first came out. It was a date night with a girl called Jackie. I slept alone that night, good movie though and I think it reminded the film industry that low octane/slow paced stories still had an audience

Couldn’t agree more. It reminded me of Paris, Texas - probably because of Harry Dean Stanton - another ‘road film’ that keeps one captivated.

Jason Momoa the lumberjack versus nasty drug dealers.
Thought I'd give it a look as it was in "hidden gems" on Netflix. It wasn't, it was shite 4/10

If you have Netflix, check out "He never died" in the hidden gems section as that really is one. Henry Rollins future cult classic 9/10
