I like that idea too. Can we apply the same rule to the orange Jock as well?

I would just like to add my support to the marker system that Adam posted.

We had a 24 bike rideout today along B roads in Wilts & Dorset down to West Bay.

The leader was fast but always made sure that number two bike was behind him every time he needed a mark. A simple (but clear) point of the left hand at junctions was all that was required for number two to pull over and show the way for the rest. The tail end wore a flourescent belt so that he could be easily identified & when he passed the marker bike a big wave indicated that the marker was clear to start riding again, overtake the tail end & then take what ever position in the group he feels comfortable with.

The system worked very well, the group kept up a brisk pace & no one got lost.

    Simple & effective
