Sounds like your mate needs to educate himself. Plenty of 'help' on utube if you're prepared to put some time into it.
I met Mrs Adamski online, had loads of sex with unsuitable freaks first though...tell him to man up, and learn when to just say “nope, you are a bit mental for me!”
Date one is coffee at lunch time, lowest investment of time, and money, that way.

I have had a rough day, but a couple of friends really went the extra mile for me...even offering to fly across to France to drive my car home, how cool is that!

i have had some of my faith in human nature restored!

Alongside all the politics and business stress, I've spend the last two months getting more and more stressed that the symptoms I had from my head butting the tarmac haven't gone. (And obviously, stress makes all the symptoms worse!!)

Was too scared to go to a doctor because they weren't 'that' bad and the doc might stop me driving (Driving is one thing I am comfortable with, weirdly!!)

Anyway. Long chats with a girlfriend here over the last couple of days and it turns out that the same symptoms are part of peri-menopause!!! Ok, I'm not happy that my hormones are starting to fck me up, but it's way better than losing my marbles!!

So today - despite the ongoing stressed, I'm feeling pretty good!! (Ok, I'd rather be younger or male, but hey, at least I'm probably not losing my marbles!!!)

Walked from Fenchurch St. Station to work this morning. Its only about 2.5 miles but I did it in 25 minutes and thats in a rush hour with people everywhere. Wasn't that long ago I couldn't walk 500 yards and I'd do well to remember that when i'm feeling frustrated at the restrictions of the new knee joint!

To tell the truth, I thought you'd lost them long ago.

10 minute miles? That's seriously fast walking.

    6 miles per hour.

A good walking pace is nearer 4mph iirc.

14 minute miles is still pretty quick*. Well done.

I seem to recall you were trying to lose weight. Is that also going well?

    * I.e. quicker than me.

I'm walking every other morning as prep for Nepal. The basic hike is all uphill for a touch over 5 kms - the average gradient is 10% - to the top of the hill that takes you out of the village to IÁmeler then turn round and back down. Last uphill time was 52 minutes, down from 62 mins 3 weeks ago. In old money it works out to around 3.3 mph. Downhill stretch is around 47 mins. I currently have 11 kgs in the rucksack which will be increased to 13 kgs next week and 15 kgs the week after.

I don't think it's too shabby for an old boy and if I can maintain the same sort of time as I increase the load then it'll be an insignificant thing that will make me feel good.

On a related note I had a discussion today about losing marbles. One of the young women that works for me is hoping to get into vet school sometime soon. And so am I - she'll make an excellent vet. Anyway, the topic of marbling horses came up - that is something I'd never heard of before. Apparently it originated around 20 years ago Which explains why I'd not heard of it as I was in vet school in the mid 80s.* A marble is placed in the uterus and it keeps horses from going into estrus (heat). Apparently it "fools" the uterus into "thinking" it's pregnant. Unfortunately there are complications. One of them is losing the marbles. Supposedly the marbles will pass naturally, eventually. My assistant was relaying tales of horses getting additional marbles installed as they came into heat. One in particular died from a uterine infection. On necropsy three marbles were discovered. Apparently the vet thought she'd lost her marbles.
The practice seems to have fallen out of vogue now, but apparently some folks still use it.

*I was intrigued that I'd never heard of it and assumed it was a fairly old method. As in older than my career. It wasn't discussed in any of my classes which surprised me as we talked about a lot of shit that was no longer acceptable practice. So barbaric practices are still emerging.
