What have you purchased recently that got you all pleased and excited? Excited or pleased at the prospect of buying, exicted or pleased at the prospect of using.

    Here's mine, purchased yesterday.

In my opinion, they're some of the best saws you can purchase. Feels very good to grip and superb at cuts. Bought from a typical old school Aladdins cave type tool shop.

I'm just happy (and I'm sure I speak for others too) that you didn't start a 'what tenon saw should I buy?' thread.

    10"?

You have a woman's saw my Lord

My pleasing purchase is the Playbook I got yesterday and am currently exploring. It's my first trip into the world of touchscreens and stuff. So far it's ace. Apart from typing on it.

It's all I need. I needed a small rigid tenon saw for accurate cuts on small timbers. I already have a 22" where larger cuts are needed where accuracy isn't as important.

'arf! Does it have a calibrate or a setting where you can change it to a keystroke when you lift your finger off it? Not that I'd know-I just remember Slenver or Screwd maybe Alex mentioning it when talking about typing trickiness on iPad or pod & tucked that wee gem away for whenever I get a tablet.

Mine was a couple of "husbandbeater" vests ... purchased a couple of days ago. Pictured below, for reference.

But wearing them yesterday and today, I've noticed a slight ripping sound, as I stretch them over my manly shoulders. All still looks OK, but clearly at least one or two stitches have broken.

But I'm secretly quite pleased about that. It's kind of a daily paradox for us bodybuilders* ...

I tried to see if Iccy wanted me to pick him one or two up, but he seems to have moved on to other pursuits now. Probably whist, and croquet. Or pressing wildflowers.

    * may or may not be true. Some settling of contents may have occurred in transit.

    Thermapen digital thermometer.
2 x 45 gallon drum plus all the fittings to turn one of them into a smoker....
    Sipurate khukhuri
    Logitech wireless headset.
    Bike jacket from China.
Quechua 2 man pop up tent.
    Biscuit jointer
    Electric planer
    Step drill bit
A Mig and a stick welder
    6 demijohns.
5500W heating element and SS waiters tray.

All these things (except the drum. welder and demijohns) were waiting for me when I got home from being stuck in croydon for 2 weeks It was like Christmas! (there may possibly be a link between being holed up in a hotel and buying stuff off amazon / ebay. I dunno...)
