    Finally - the sun shines!

It's been a glorious day at Cadwell today. Awoke to blue sky and sun, which has lasted all day. Gideon has completed 6 test sessions today, and his confidence and pace have grown proggressively as the day passed. Bike is performing well, although is very snap-crackle-and-poppy on the overrun - whilst this sounds aces, it's possibly a sign of worn throttle body rubbers. Planning to get them checked this evening. Other than that, jusyt some fresh rubber to fit for qualifying in the morning, and some beer to drink

Going to be a busy weekend - Gid is entered in the usual 450 class, but also the supertwin class, to increase his track time. This means 4 races per day, tomorrow and Monday. Big thanks to Motopodd for the support, it's making a big difference.

Updates as they happen, over the weekend.

Qualifying went ok this morning with Gid finishing 11th in the twins class and 13th in the 450 class.

Come race time he dropped a couple of places off the start and fought back to 11th with a faster lap time than his qualifying finishing 8th 450
In the 450 race he fought through the second group of riders to the front of it and finished a superb 9th again with a faster lap time and a few violent head shakes landing the front at the mountain........ A check showed the damper mount bolt had sheared which makes his result even better.

Sun is still blasting out and out for race 3 soon with a working steering damper

That would have been the previous owner

Race 3 the boy finished tenth among the big twins and 6th of the 450's but by the end was tiring and admitted it when he got in.

Race 4 was the last 450 race of the day and Gid was told to do what he could but not lob it through trying too hard if knackered. Got away ok and was sitting in the 2nd pack when 4 laps in started falling back .....listening the bike didn't sound right when he passed and dropped off the back of the group a lot. Back in the grid it was found the rear exhaust had a massive crack in it so finished 13th with a few behind him on a bike losing power badly.

Exhaust now all fixed, bike all sorted for the morning, Olly is as pink as a pink thing through sunburn and its been a superb days racing

Skidmark and Angie came along for the day so he has 1500 pics (i shit you not ) that he will post at some time.

Food now done and a few beers although probably an early night as its been a very busy day ......roll on tomorrow

Another beautiful sunny day here today. Gid has warm up at 9, then 4 more races spread across the day.

I'm not as pink as Bigyin's nose...

Getting better by the sound of it, sixth is a great result! Please tell him well done from me.

Trust me Olly is Mr pink today wearing long sleeves and hat to prevent complete meltdown

Gix, his starts are improving and is on track at the moment having got away from 14th on the grid into 10th but dropping a few places 8 laps in back markers but finishing 13th

Our pit buddies however are all hands to the pump after lobbing the R6 at the gooseneck which cartwheeled ....... Oops

Race 2: dumped the clutch when the lights went out - and the sprocket carrier bolts sheared Sprocket spinning, no movement. Marchesini wheel now needs 5 sheared bolts drilled out / tapped. We've swapped the dry tyre onto the spare (wet) rear wheel, so we'll get him out for this afternoon's races.

This afternoons races were a bit of hard work as in the first one Gid had a good start but going round the outside of some minitwins got punted wide onto the grass and dropped back to 16th and managed to finish 13th iirc.

Last race of the day saw a reasonable start and a fast first flying lap close to his best of the day but ran on at the downhill left hander and was left nowhere but up the big grassy hill which lost him 20 seconds so he rejoined way behind the pack and rode round to finish safely and get some points

A mixed weekend all round but some good things came from it and the starts have improved
