    Not bad for a week.

I guess some more publicity ought to help fuel it.

Most barcode scanners will scan a barcode off a phone. I actually found that out a whiley ago because the woman in my local shop could scan the code off my phone for my elecy bill.

Its not something I hope to make any pennys from, as you can see its advert free so not really something I thought to ask about first, I thought it may be something of intrest since we all use fuel.

A lot of forecourts don't have scanners, the big Asda one I use for one, and I'll be buggered if I'm handing my phone to a spotty till jockey..

I use this now and then but its more out of curiosity than trying to save .5p a Lt.

Yeah, petrolprices.com is really good, I am going to use that to do the calculations on what is the average cheapest when I get the offers in.

My site is really more about getting enough people to say they will only use one supplier that week and see if we can bring back a bit of contest instead of fixed pricing.

Considering the 4 Asda petrol stations within 20 miles of home, three are 24 hour automated stations and the last one has a pay booth only, no stock, just a shack with a till and a pump jockey in it.

Dude they sell petrol, fags and packets of mints, they don't need scanners, the Texaco down the road don't have them either.
The Sainsbury garage do, but I avoid that as its full of dinks doing their shopping.

So, moving on, what have the fuel companies said, how will you get a discount of them for a product everyone uses at whatever price it is at where others have failed?

Why not do the same with gold, then we could all get some cheap gold.

But we're not entitled to gold, we're entitled to petrol and as much as we ever need.

I think what makes this moderately different is that I am doing the legwork in advance, its not costing anything and theres nothing to loose in the attempt.

The feedback from one of the letters I received this week was that it was an intresting project and that I would be made an offer to give to the customers based on a number of customers not a number of litres, apparently according to this letter the markup on the fuel is relatively low and there is a reliance on purchase of goods as well as the quantity of fuel.

The critical mass number I need to reach is 1 million litres or 50k customers which is not unreasonable to reach if people sign up, they reference that by estimate the uptake on an offer could be as low as 10% and they have no guarentee, I dont have any way to offer them one either however being honest, I was surprised they even wrote back a response.
