Final drive rebuilt. New main gear set, all new bearings and just to put new oil seal...The difference is obvious...

Next on menu is frame and rear fork. Frame had rust on some places, and paint was disaster.

I have sandblasted the frame and all other metal parts and prepared them for powder coating. I was thinking should I paint the frame or go with powder coating. Then I see one bike that had powder coated frame and decision was quick; powder coating.

Engine and gearbox was next...It has taken me most of the time to rebuilt engine and gearbox, I was waiting for parts and collecting money to do everything. Cylinder heads require complete reconstruction; new valves, valve guide, valve springs (inner and outer) and valve seats. Cylinders was ok, on both cylinders nikasil was ok, inside no damages. But both pistons need replacing, along with big end bearings.

So...engine and gearbox; all new bearings, oil seals. Camshaft and crankshaft was ok.

Finally, after I managed to get all the parts, I was able to rebuild engine and gearbox. Two days in peace and the job is done.

Hope that everything will be ok...

Excellent thread, as a non-supporter you have a tiny attachment limit, 12 per year will boost that to 20Mb (I think) otherwise, post links to images within [img][/img] tags. You need to post a minimum of 15 posts before you can do it though.

Before I start with the installation of the engine in frame, there is couple more things that I wanted to prepare; renew brake calipers, front and rear brake cylinder; First I take the brake pistons out of caliper and it's god that I did this; they are rusty..

    After everything is refurbished:

Same thing with front and rear brake cylinder:

All the little things are prepared for zinc plating:

And after all preparations, I started with assembling:

I was thinking what should I do with my old seat; should I leave it like it is, or make this: Screenshot by Lightshot
The only problem with caffe seat is that I don't have any place for things when I'm on the road...So, that's still in phase of thinking..

In the meanwhile, engine is finally in frame:

Little update: parts arrived from painter. I'm very satisfied with the job.

Except that, game with wiring is almost done, yesterday I have put new tires on rims, put the front fork on the frame...so..everything is coming to it's end...

    Finally on wheels.....

Everything ran its course, the only thing, I have a little free time...Electrical installation is 90% complete and now I decide not to put the original instrument console, I'd rather made something like this:

I think it's much more elegant than the old one...

    Well...for now, this is it...
