First, a little intorduction; my name is Goran, I'm from Croatia, 36 years old, married, two children and a Moto Guzzi owner..My ride is Moto Guzzi 1000 engine on a Le Mans III frame. I own the bike for a 8 years and made with this bike around 100.000 km. I am very satisfied with the bike, but the time has come to put little more love and money in the bike, so that my happiness may continue....
One more thing; my english isn't perfect, so in the future, please sorry for my mistake in writing.
Here is the bike before I started with all...

I am third owner of the bike. Second owner was my friend, he make around 50.000 km with the bike, and God knows how many make first owner.. Engine started to use oil, compression was very poor, the bike was having problems with starting, I was having problems with wires and so on and so on...So I decide to make a complete job on engine, gearbox, rear drive and frame. Most of work I done myself, but I was having a lot of help from my friend, also Moto Guzzi rider and mechanic.
Welcome, pull up a chair and I will have a glass of Rose please.
Thank you.
Slowly, I strip the bike, put labels on almost everything, and take a lot of pictures. Now I find all that very helpful. It's been almost two years since I started...

Good luck Goran, hope you enjoy the rebuild as much as I am.
Welcome onto the site Goran. You look to have a good interesting project there, keep up the good work.
Nice one. Welcome.
Welcome Goran. Two of my favourite things-a Guzzi and Croatia. Coming over to Croatia in August for a few weeks, and will be on my Guzzi!
Welcome!
You're now making my mind buzz - I've got a chance of buying my first 'big' bike from my mum - a V50II. Would make a lovely little cafe-racer if I decide to buy it. hmmmmmm (thinks - really ought to find a decent garage first!)
I will send you in PM my phone number, let me know when you come.
to continue....after everything is down this is how it looked...my workshop full of Guzzi...

Now I asked myself "with what to start first?". Here in Croatia we have a Moto Guzzi parts dealer, but for me, prices are too high and delivery time is insane...I have couple frends in Germany, so I decide to find and buy everything that I will need from German dealer. They have almost everything on stock and prices are ok for me.
So, on my worktable first was final drive; inside was a very funny story..one of the bold was loose and make a nice damage. Furthermore, traces of wear are visible everywhere: I need to replace main gear set:

You must've posted these on another forum too, sure I've seen them before. When you put your bike back together use moly grease on the splined drives. It will prevent the wear you've experienced.
Yes, I am, but I no longer remember where...never mind...I have always used Liqui Moly MoS2 Antifriction for Gears additive, or Olycon additive, in gearbox and final drive. But, as I said, the bike has, in my opinion, a lot over 150,000 km...
Dobar dan.nice thread i may pick your brains if i may as we are moving to Hrvatska in june and will be looking for bikes when we ove out (near zagreb) .![]()
